Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) takes place from the 18th to 22nd of October, 2017. Since its inception in 1996, ADE has grown into a globally renowned platform for the international dance and electronic music scene. The festival is the perfect place to spot the latest musical trends and emerging talents, as well as hearing the most recent work of both electronic music pioneers and current superstar acts. In addition to the extensive line-up of the ADE Festival, the ADE Playground offers music enthusiasts a large and varied daytime program including exhibitions, in-store promotions, pop-up stores and film screenings all over the city center. The business aspect of the event (ADE Conference) is recognized as the most important of its kind, presenting a broad range of conferences and networking opportunities that focus on music and technology, VJs & visuals, sustainability, dance & brands, harder dance styles, new talent and the education of students.
2017 is set to feature around 2500 performers, an all-time record number, playing in over 140 locations around Amsterdam. ADE, the world’s largest club festival and the most important business conference for electronic music, today announced the first selection of artists for 2017.
ADE, an initiative of Buma, has grown rapidly in recent years; In 2016, the event played host to over 2,200 artists and 550 speakers in a record-breaking 140 locations. In addition to the growth of the extensive night program, the organization is also focused on the further expansion of its daytime and early evening activities. In previous communications, ADE’s announced that the opening concert with the Metropole Orchestra, and the multi-day talent program ADE LIVE, will return to this year’s evening program. In addition, music pioneer Gary Numan and Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh will be taking part in the daytime events.
