Mamby On The Beach, Chicago’s only beachside summer music festival, just announced the lineup for its senior edition, taking place Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th, on the grassy fields and sand-swept coastline of Oakwood Beach in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood.
Meanwhile, the Park Stage provides a sonic landscape with headlining performances by indie rock favorites SPOON – stopping through Chicago as part of their nationwide co-headlining tour with dreamy lo-fi heroes GRIZZLY BEAR, along with energetic rockers COLD WAR KIDS, and high-energy art pop bandST. LUCIA. Additionally, genre-bending duo TUNE-YARDS, and singer-songwriter duo OH WONDER will dazzle the crowd with their defiant alt-pop sound. This year, industry leaders MIXMAG and BEATPORT team up to host the Mamby DJ Tent, a stage dedicated to the very best in house and techno, with headlining performances by RICHIE HAWTIN and DUKE DUMONT. The Mixmag x Beatport Tent will also host Innervisions founder DIXON, indie-tronic sensation JAI WOLF, South African trailblazer NORA EN PURE, and Canadian producer VANIC. In 2018, Mamby will expand its footprint to include a new Community Village dedicated to local and national nonprofit organizations with progressive missions. The Community Village will host a stage featuring talent from Young Chicago Authors and other surrounding neighborhoods.
As previous attendees will remember, Mamby is far more than a gathering of diverse musical acts on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. Since its inception, the Mamby experience grows each year, expanding its roots to encompass a variety of experiences that connects attendees with art, culture, and the community in ways like never before. With the continual addition of art installations, volleyball, a water balloon fight, yoga, nutrition and wellness workshops, beautification stations, poetry slams, a variety of local food vendors, and more, Mamby is proven to be unlike any other music festival in Chicago.
